The monk's berry is in fact the dried fruit of Chaste tree.
In the Middle Ages the monks cultivated it for its anaphrodisiac virtues (although no study could prove this power). It also aids digestion and is a good anti-inflammatory.
This berry is small, and is adorned with different colors, gray, white and brown. On the palate, we detect light floral notes as well as a nice bitterness.
You will use this berry to spice up your salads, soups and broths. You can also use it on all types of vegetables, green beans, carrots, potatoes, leeks...
Can be used on white fish and white meats, poultry or pork. In sweet it can add something to your fruit salads, and other fruity desserts in general.
